6battery cartridge when you notice less toolpower.2. Never recharge a fully charged batterycartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10 ゚ C - 40 ゚ C (50 ゚ F - 104 ゚ F).Let a hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge once in every sixmonths if you do not use it for a long period oftime.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridgeFig.1• Always switch off the tool before installing orremoving of the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, slide it from thetool while sliding the button on the front of thecartridge.• To install the battery cartridge, align the tongue onthe battery cartridge with the groove in the housingand slip it into place. Always insert it all the wayuntil it locks in place with a little click. If you can seethe red indicator on the upper side of the button, it isnot locked completely. Install it fully until the redindicator cannot be seen. If not, it may accidentallyfall out of the tool, causing injury to you or someonearound you.• Do not use force when installing the batterycartridge. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, itis not being inserted correctly.Battery protection system (Lithium-ionbattery with star marking)Fig.2Lithium-ion batteries with a star marking are equippedwith a protection system. This system automatically cutsoff power to the tool to extend battery life. The tool will automatically stop during operation if the tooland/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:• Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current. In this situation, release the trigger switch onthe tool and stop the application that causedthe tool to become overloaded. Then pull thetrigger switch again to restart. If the tool does not start, the battery isoverheated. In this situation, let the batterycool before pulling the trigger switch again.• Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too low andthe tool will not operate. In this situation, remove and recharge the battery.Setting for desired screw lengthFig.3There are 7 positive-lock screw length settings. To obtainthe desired setting, pull out the stopper base whiledepressing the lever until you see the number of thedesired screw length (indicated on the label on feederbox) appear to rest in the fenestella of stopper base. Seethe table below for the relation between the numberindicated on the label on feeder box and the respectivescrew length. For Models BFR540, BFR5502530354045505525 mm30 mm35 mm40 mm45 mm50 mm55 mmNumber indicated on the label Screw length008238For Model BFR750Number indicated on the label Screw length45505545 mm50 mm55 mm6065707560 mm65 mm70 mm75 mm008241Adjusting the driving depthFig.4Depress the stopper base as far as it will go.
