Before using battery cartridge, read allinstructions and cautionary markings on (1)battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessively shorter,stop operating immediately. It may result in a riskof overheating, possible burns and even anexplosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse them outwith clear water and seek medical attention rightaway. It may result in loss of your eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with anyconductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a containerwith other metal objects such as nails, coins,etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to water orrain.A battery short can cause a large current flow,overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50°C (122°F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even if it isseverely damaged or is completely worn out. Thebattery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use dropped or struck battery.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.Tips for maintaining maximum battery life1. Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged. Always stop tool operation andcharge the battery cartridge when you notice lesstool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery cartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10°C - 40°C (50°F - 104°F). Let a hotbattery cartridge cool down before charging it.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridge(Fig. 1)• Always switch off the tool before insertion or removal ofthe battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it from thetool while sliding the button on the side of the cartridge.• To insert the battery cartridge, align the tongue on thebattery cartridge with the groove in the housing and slipit into place. Always insert it all the way until it locks inplace with a little click. If you can see the red part onthe upper side of the button, it is not locked completely.Insert it fully until the red part cannot be seen. If not, itmay accidentally fall out of the tool, causing injury toyou or someone around you.• Do not use force when inserting the battery cartridge. Ifthe cartridge does not slide in easily, it is not beinginserted correctly.Switch action (Fig. 2)CAUTION:• Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,always check to see that the switch trigger actuatesproperly and returns to the “OFF” position whenreleased.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Tool speedis increased by increasing pressure on the switch trigger.Release the switch trigger to stop.Lighting up the front lamp (Fig. 3)CAUTION:• Do not look in the light or see the source of lightdirectly.Pull the switch trigger to light up the lamp. The lampkeeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.The lamp goes out 10 -15 seconds after releasing thetrigger.NOTE:• Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens of lamp. Becareful not to scratch the lens of lamp, or it may lowerthe illumination.Reversing switch action (Fig. 4)This tool has a reversing switch to change the direction ofrotation. Depress the reversing switch lever from the “A”side for clockwise rotation or from the “B” side forcounterclockwise rotation.When the reversing switch lever is in the neutral position,the switch trigger cannot be pulled.CAUTION:• Always check the direction of rotation before operation.• Use the reversing switch only after the tool comes to acomplete stop. Changing the direction of rotationbefore the tool stops may damage the tool.• When not operating the tool, always set the reversingswitch lever to the neutral position.Speed change (Fig. 5)This tool has a three-gear speed change lever. To changethe speed, first switch off the tool and then slide the speedchange lever to the “1” position for low speed, “2” positionfor medium speed or “3” position for high speed. Be surethat the speed change lever is set to the correct positionbefore operation. Use the right speed for your job.NOTE:• When changing the position from “1” to “3” or from “3”to “1”, it may be a little difficult to slide the speedchange lever.
