Before using battery cartridge, read allinstructions and cautionary markings on (1)battery charger, (2) battery, and (3) productusing battery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse themout with clear water and seek medicalattention right away. It may result in loss ofyour eyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with anyconductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in acontainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large currentflow, overheating, possible burns andeven a breakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 ﾟ C (122 ﾟ F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a fire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use dropped or struck battery.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.Tips for maintaining maximum battery life1. Charge the battery cartridge beforecompletely discharged.Always stop tool operation and charge thebattery cartridge when you notice less toolpower.2. Never recharge a fully charged batterycartridge.Overcharging shortens the battery service life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with roomtemperature at 10 ﾟ C - 40 ﾟ C (50 ﾟ F - 104 ﾟ F).Let a hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridgeFig.1• Always switch off the tool before insertion orremoval of the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it fromthe tool while sliding the button on the front of thecartridge.• To insert the battery cartridge, align the tongue onthe battery cartridge with the groove in the housingand slip it into place. Always insert it all the wayuntil it locks in place with a little click. If you can seethe red part on the upper side of the button, it is notlocked completely. Insert it fully until the red partcannot be seen. If not, it may accidentally fall out ofthe tool, causing injury to you or someone aroundyou.• Do not use force when inserting the batterycartridge. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, itis not being inserted correctly.Switch actionFig.2CAUTION:• Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,always check to see that the switch lever actuatesproperly and returns to the "OFF" position when therear of the switch lever is depressed.• Switch can be locked in "ON" position for ease ofoperator comfort during extend use. Apply cautionwhen locking tool in "OFF" position and maintainfirm grasp on tool.To start the tool, slide the switch lever toward the "I (ON)"position. For continuous operation, press the front of theswitch lever to lock it.To stop the tool, press the rear of the switch lever, thenslide it toward the "O (OFF)" position.Indication lamp with multi functionFig.3Indication lamps are located in two positions.− Battery cartridge replacing signal− When the battery power is almost used upduring operation, the red lamp lights up andthe tool stops immediately. Replace thebattery with fully charged one when the redlamp lights up.
