Wood facingUse of wood facing helps to assure splinter-freecuts in workpieces. Attach a wood facing to theguide fence using the holes in the guide fence.See the figure concerning the dimensions for asuggested wood facing.Over 15mm (5/8") Over 420mm (16-1/2")1 150mm-60mm(2"-2-3/8")27mm (1-1/16")85mm(3-3/8")70mm(2-3/4")85mm(3-3/8")70mm(2-3/4")002206CAUTION:• Use the straight wood of even thickness as thewood facing.WARNING:• Use screws to attach the wood facing to theguide fence. The screws should be installedso that the screw heads are below the surfaceof the wood facing so that they will notinterfere with the positioning of the materialbeing cut. Misalignment of the material being cutcan case unexpected movement during thecutting operation which may result in a loss ofcontrol and serious personal injury.NOTICE:• When the wood facing is attached, do not turn theturn base with the handle lowered. The bladeand/or the wood facing will be damaged.8. Cutting repetitive lengths123001846When cutting several pieces of stock to the samelength, ranging from 220 mm to 385 mm, use of theset plate (optional accessory) will facilitate moreefficient operation. Install the set plate on the holder(optional accessory) as shown in the figure.Align the cutting line on your workpiece with eitherthe left or right side of the groove in the kerf board, and while holding the workpiece from moving, move the set plate flush against the end of theworkpiece. Then secure the set plate with the screw. When the set plate is not used, loosen the screwand turn the set plate out of the way.NOTE:• Use of the holder-rod assembly (optionalaccessory) allows cutting repetitive lengths up to2,200 mm approximately.1.
