8The fastening torque is affected by a wide variety offactors including the following. After fastening, alwayscheck the torque with a torque wrench.1. When the battery cartridge is discharged almostcompletely, voltage will drop and the fastening torquewill be reduced.2. Driver bit or socket bitFailure to use the correct size driver bit or socket bitwill cause a reduction in the fastening torque.3. Bolt• Even though the torque coefficient and the class ofbolt are the same, the proper fastening torque willdiffer according to the diameter of bolt.• Even though the diameters of bolts are the same,the proper fastening torque will differ according tothe torque coefficient, the class of bolt and the boltlength.4. The manner of holding the tool or the material ofdriving position to be fastened will affect the torque.5. Operating the tool at low speed will cause a reductionin the fastening torque.MAINTENANCECAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before attempting toperform inspection or maintenance.• Never use gasoline, benzine, thinner, alcohol or thelike. Discoloration, deformation or cracks may result.Replacing carbon brushesReplace when they wear down to the limit mark. Keep thecarbon brushes clean and free to slip in the holders. Bothcarbon brushes should be replaced at the same time. Useonly identical carbon brushes. (Fig. 10)Use a screwdriver to remove two screws then remove therear cover. (Fig. 11)Raise the arm part of the spring and then place it in therecessed part of the housing with a slotted bit screwdriverof slender shaft or the like. (Fig. 12)Use pliers to remove the carbon brush cap of the carbonbrushes. Take out the worn carbon brushes, insert thenew ones and replace the carbon brush cap in reverse.(Fig. 13)Make sure that the carbon brush cap have fit into theholes in brush holders securely.
