18 ENGLISHFor DHR280/DHR282Optional accessoryAttach the chuck adapter to a keyless drill chuck towhich 1/2"-20 size screw can be installed, and theninstall them to the tool. When installing it, refer to thesection “Installing or removing drill bit”.► Fig.33: 1. Keyless drill chuck 2. Chuck adapterFor DHR281/DHR283Use the quick change drill chuck as standard equip-ment. When installing it, refer to "changing the quickchange chuck for SDS-plus".Hold the ring and turn the sleeve counterclockwise toopen the chuck jaws. Place the bit in the chuck as far asit will go. Hold the ring firmly and turn the sleeve clock-wise to tighten the chuck.► Fig.34: 1. Sleeve 2. RingTo remove the bit, hold the ring and turn the sleevecounterclockwise.Diamond core drillingNOTICE: If performing diamond core drillingoperations using “rotation with hammering”action, the diamond core bit may be damaged.When performing diamond core drilling operations,always set the change lever to the position to use"rotation only" action.Beating dust on the filterOptional accessoryCAUTION: Do not turn the dial on the dustcase while the dust case is removed from thedust collection system. Doing so may cause dustinhalation.CAUTION: Always switch off the tool whenturning the dial on the dust case. Turning the dialwhile the tool is running may result in the loss ofcontrol of the tool.By beating the dust on the filter inside the dust case,you can keep the vacuum efficiency and also reducethe number of times to dispose of the dust.Turn the dial on the dust case three times after col-lecting every 50,000 mm3 of dust or when you feel thevacuum performance declined.NOTE: 50,000 mm 3 of dust equivalents to drilling 10holes of ø10 mm and 65 mm depth (14 holes of ø3/8″and 2″ depth).► Fig.35: 1. DialDisposing of dustOptional accessoryCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.CAUTION: Be sure to wear dust mask whendisposing of dust.CAUTION: Empty the dust case regularlybefore the dust case becomes full. Failure to do somay decrease the dust collection performance andcause dust inhalation.CAUTION: The performance of dust collectiondecreases if the filter in the dust case becomeclogged. Replace the filter with new one afterapproximately 200 times of dust fulfillment as aguide. Failure to do so may cause dust inhalation.1. Remove the dust case while pressing down thelever of the dust case.► Fig.36: 1. Lever2. Open the cover of the dust case.► Fig.37: 1. Cover3. Dispose of the dust, and then clean the filter.► Fig.38NOTICE: When cleaning the filter, do not touchthe filter with brush or similar, or blow com-pressed air on the filter. It may damage the filter.Blow-out bulbOptional accessoryAfter drilling the hole, use the blow-out bulb to clean thedust out of the hole.► Fig.39Using dust cup setOptional accessoryFit the dust cup set against the ceiling when operatingthe tool.► Fig.40NOTICE: Do not use the dust cup set when drill-ing in metal or similar. It may damage the dustcup set due to the heat produced by small metaldust or similar.NOTICE: Do not install or remove the dust cupset with the drill bit installed in the tool. It maydamage the dust cup set and cause dust leak.
