This will help pre-vent premature wear of the tool.NOTICE: Drill bits such as hole saw, which tendto pinch or catch easily in the hole, are not appro-priate for this tool. This is because they will causethe torque limiter to actuate too frequently.The torque limiter will actuate when a certain torquelevel is reached. The motor will disengage from theoutput shaft. When this happens, the drill bit will stopturning.Electronic functionThe tool is equipped with the electronic functions foreasy operation.• Constant speed controlThe speed control function provides the constantrotation speed regardless of load conditions.• Active Feedback sensing Technology (ForDHR282/DHR283)If the tool is swung at the predetermined accelera-tion during operation, the motor is forcibly stoppedto reduce the burden on the wrist.NOTE: This function does not work if the acceleration doesnot reach the predetermined one when the tool is swung.NOTE: If the bit is swung at the predetermined acceler-ation during chipping, scaling, or demolishing, the motoris forcibly stopped. In this case, release the switch trig-ger, and then pull the switch trigger to restart the tool.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.Side grip (auxiliary handle)CAUTION: Always use the side grip to ensuresafe operation.CAUTION: After installing or adjusting the sidegrip, make sure that the side grip is firmly secured.To install the side grip, follow the steps below.1. Loosen the thumb screw on the side grip.► Fig.16: 1. Thumb screw2. Attach the side grip while pressing the thumbscrew so that the grooves on the grip fit in the protru-sions on the tool barrel.► Fig.17: 1. Thumb screw3. Tighten the thumb screw to secure the grip. Thegrip can be fixed at desired angle.GreaseCoat the shank end of the drill bit beforehand with asmall amount of grease (about 0.5 - 1 g).This chuck lubrication assures smooth action and lon-ger service life.Installing or removing drill bitClean the shank end of the drill bit and apply greasebefore installing the drill bit.► Fig.18: 1. Shank end 2. GreaseInsert the drill bit into the tool. Turn the drill bit and pushit in until it engages.After installing the drill bit, always make sure that thedrill bit is securely held in place by trying to pull it out.► Fig.19: 1. Drill bit
