7 ENGLISHSwitch actionCAUTION: Before installing the battery car-tridge into the tool, always check to see that theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns tothe "OFF" position when released.NOTICE: Do not use the lock/speed change leverwhile the tool is running. Status of the lock/speed change lever► Fig.5To start the tool, depress the lock/speed change leverfrom either A or B side and pull the switch trigger.Tool speed is increased by increasing pressure on theswitch trigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.Max tool speed can be changed in 2 steps.• For high speedWhen the lock/speed change lever is depressedfrom A side, the stroke speed is at “2”.• For low speedWhen the lock/speed change lever is depressedfrom B side, the stroke speed is at “1”.When the lock/speed change lever is in position, thetool is locked and the switch trigger cannnot be pulled.Lighting up the front lamp► Fig.6: 1. LampCAUTION: Do not look in the light or see thesource of light directly.Pull the switch trigger to light up the lamp. The lampkeeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.The lamp goes out approximately 10 seconds afterreleasing the switch trigger.NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens ofthe lamp. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, orit may lower the illumination.NOTE: When the tool is overheated, the lamp blinks for oneminute. In this case, cool down the tool before another operation.Adjusting the shoeIf Provided (Country specific)When the recipro saw blade loses its cutting efficiency inone place along its cutting edge, reposition the shoe toutilize a sharp, unused portion of its cutting edge. This willhelp to lengthen the life of the recipro saw blade.The position of the shoe can be adjusted in five levels.To reposition the shoe, open the shoe adjusting lever and selectthe suitable position, then close the shoe adjusting lever.► Fig.7: 1. Shoe 2. Shoe adjusting leverNOTICE: The shoe cannot be secured if it is extendedmore than the marking of stamping. Do notclose the shoe adjusting lever forcibly in such a posi-tion. It may result in breakage of the lever.NOTE: The shoe cannot be adjusted without openingthe shoe adjusting lever fully.HookCAUTION: When hanging the tool, set thelock/speed change lever in position to lockthe switch trigger. (See the section titled “Switchaction” .)CAUTION: Never hang the tool at high orpotentially unstable location.► Fig.8: 1. HookThe hook is convenient for hanging the tool temporarily.To use the hook, simply lift up hook until it snaps intothe open position.When not in use, always lower hook until it snaps intothe closed position.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.Installing or removing the reciprosaw bladeCAUTION: Always clean out all chips or for-eign matter adhering to the blade and around theblade clamp. Failure to do so may cause insufficienttightening of the blade, resulting in a serious injury.To install the recipro saw blade, always make sure thatthe blade clamp lever (part of the blade clamp sleeve)is in released position on the insulation cover beforeinserting the recipro saw blade. If the blade clamp leveris in fixed position, rotate the blade clamp lever in thedirection of the arrow so that it can be locked at thereleased positon .► Fig.9: 1. Blade clamp lever 2. Released position3. Fixed positionInsert the recipro saw blade into the blade clamp as faras it will go. The blade clamp sleeve rotates and fixesthe recipro saw blade. Make sure that the recipro sawblade cannot be extracted even though you try to pullit out.► Fig.10: 1. Recipro saw blade 2. Blade clamp sleeveCAUTION: If you do not insert the recipro sawblade deep enough, the recipro saw blade may beejected unexpectedly during operation. This canbe extremely dangerous.To remove the recipro saw blade, rotate the bladeclamp lever in the direction of the arrow fully. The reci-pro saw blade is removed and the blade clamp lever isfixed at the released position .► Fig.11: 1. Recipro saw blade 2. Blade clamp leverCAUTION: Keep hands and fingers away fromthe lever during the switching operation. Failureto do so may cause personal injuries. |
