Be sure to inspect the following points beforeusing the tool.•Check that no parts are damaged•Check that no bolts are loose•Check that safety devices operatenormally7. If any abnormalities are found, stop using thetool immediately. Do not repair the tool byyourself. Ask your local Makita Service Centerfor repairs. I f th e tool is used in an inc ompletestate, an ac c id ent may oc c ur.8. W hen installing the battery cartridge, be sureto lock the trigger and do not place your fingeron the trigger. I nc orrec t operation may c ause anac c id ent.9. W hen tying rebars, exercise care not to movethem. I f rebars mov e d ue to ty ing, y ou may beinjured.10. Do not touch the wires during the wire tyingprocess. O th erw ise, y ou may get c augh t in th ewire and injured.11. Do not bring your hands close to the tyingpoint during the wire tying process. O th erw ise,you may get caught in the wire and injured.12. Hold the grip of the tool firmly during the wiretying process. O th erw ise, y our w rist may betw isted or y our bod y may be pulled , w h ic h mayresult in an injury.13. Do not move to the next tying point until thecurrent wire tying process is completed.Otherwise, you may be injured.14. Pay attention to the end of the wire during thewire tying process. O th erw ise, y our h and maybe c augh t by th e end of th e w ire, and y ou may beinjured.15. Do not touch the contact plate during the wiretying process. If you need to touch the contactplate, be sure to lock the trigger, or turn thepower switch off and remove the battery car-tridge. Otherwise, you may be injured.16. W hen you have completed the wire tying pro-cess, pull the tool up vertically. O th erw ise, th earm may be c augh t on rebars, w h ic h may c ausean ac c id ent.17. Be careful not to drop, bump, or hit the tool.If a strong impact is applied prior to the toolbeing used, make sure that the tool is not dam-aged or cracked, and that the safety devicesoperate normally. If any of the following phenomena occur, lockthe trigger, turn the power switch off, andremove the battery cartridge from the tool.Ifth e tool operates inc orrec tly , an ac c id ent mayoc c ur.•If an operating sound is heard as soon asthe battery cartridge is mounted.•If overheating or abnormal smells ornoises are detected.•When you are taking measures inresponse to the error display. (Ask yourlocal Makita Service Center for repairs.)•When loading or unloading a wire reel.•When you move while holding the toolduring work.•When you do not use the tool.•When you inspect or adjust the tool.•When you remove a stranded wire.19. W hen working on scaffolding, always stabilizeit and work using a posture that will ensureyou maintain your balance. I f sc af f old ing isunstable, an ac c id ent may oc c ur.20. W hen working on a roof or similar locations,move in a forward direction while working sothat you can see where you are going. If you are working in a highly elevated loca-tion, ensure that no one is below you, and payattention to ensure you do not drop any toolswhile working. D ropping th e tool may c ause anac c id ent.22. Do not use the tool for any work other thanwire tying. O th erw ise, an ac c id ent may oc c ur.23. Always use Makita' s genuine wires. If wires arenot used for a long period of time, they mayrust. Do not use rusted wires. O th erw ise, th eymay c ause an ac c id ent.24 . After tying, check for wire breakage due toexcessive twisting. If any wires are broken,tying strength will be lost. Adjust the tyingstrength, and tie the rebars again.25 . Securely place the arm against the rebars. I fit is not sec urely positioned , a c learanc e w ill becreated betw een th e rebars, and ty ing strength w illbe c ompromised .Important safety instructions forbattery cartridge1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse themout with clear water and seek medical atten-tion right away. It may result in loss of youreyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1)Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain. |
