Depress the reversing switch lever from theA side for clockwise rotation or from the B side for coun-terclockwise rotation. When the reversing switch lever is in the neutral posi-tion, the switch trigger cannot be pulled.CAUTION:• Always check the direction of rotation beforeoperation.• Use the reversing switch only after the toolcomes to a complete stop. Changing the direc-tion of rotation before the tool stops may dam-age the tool.• When not operating the tool, always set thereversing switch lever to the neutral position.ASSEMBLYCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andthe battery cartridge is removed before carryingout any work on the tool.Selecting correct socketAlways use the correct size socket for bolts and nuts.An incorrect size socket will result in inaccurate andinconsistent fastening torque and/or damage to the boltor nut.Installing or removing socket► Fig.7: 1. Socket 2. Anvil1. For socket without O-ring and pinTo install the socket, push it onto the anvil of thetool until it locks into place. To remove the socket, simply pull it off.2. For socket with O-ring and pin► Fig.8: 1. Socket 2. O-ring 3. PinMove the O-ring out of the groove in the socketand remove the pin from the socket. Fit the socketonto the anvil of the tool so that the hole in thesocket is aligned with the hole in the anvil. Insertthe pin through the hole in the socket and anvil. Then return the O-ring to the original position inthe socket groove to retain the pin. To removethe socket, follow the installation procedures inreverse.Hook► Fig.9: 1. Hook 2. Screw 3. GrooveThe hook is convenient for temporarily hanging the tool. This can be installed on either side of the tool.To install the hook, insert it into a groove in the toolhousing on either side and then secure it with a screw. To remove, loosen the screw and then take it out.OPERATIONCAUTION:• Always insert the battery cartridge all the wayuntil it locks in place. If you can see the red parton the upper side of the button, it is not lockedcompletely. Insert it fully until the red part cannotbe seen. If not, it may accidentally fall out of thetool, causing injury to you or someone aroundyou.Hold the tool firmly and place the socket over the bolt ornut. Turn the tool on and fasten for the proper fasteningtime.► Fig.10The proper fastening torque may differ depending uponthe kind or size of the bolt, the material of the workpieceto be fastened, etc. The relation between fasteningtorque and fastening time is shown in the figures.160140120100806040200 0 0.5 1.0 1.5 2.0Standard boltFastening torqueFastening time (S)Proper fastening torqueM16M16M14M14M12M12(1,632)(1,428)(1,224)(1,020)(816)(612)(408)(204)N m(kgf cm)
