Do not expose a battery pack or tool to fire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to fire or tem-perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.7. Follow all charging instructions and do notcharge the battery pack or tool outside thetemperature range specified in the instruc-tions. Charging improperly or at temperaturesoutside the specified range may damage thebattery and increase the risk of fire.Service1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualifiedrepair person using only identical replacementparts. This will ensure that the safety of the powertool is maintained.2. National regulations may restrict of the use ofthe tool. Follow the regulations about handlingof the tool in your country.Personal protective equipment1. Wear safety helmet, protective goggles andprotective gloves to protect yourself fromflying debris or falling objects.2. Wear ear protection such as ear muffs to pre-vent hearing loss.3. Wear proper clothing and shoes for safeoperation, such as a work overall and sturdy,non-slip shoes. Do not wear loose clothing orjewelry. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can becaught in moving parts.4. When handling the saw chain or adjusting thechain tension, wear protective gloves. Sawchain can cut bare hands severely.Work area safety1. Keep the tool at least 15 m away from electriclines and communication cables (includingany branches contacting them). Touching orapproaching high-voltage lines with the toolcan result in death or serious injury. Watchpower lines and electrical fences around thework area before starting operation.2. Operate the tool under good visibility and day-light conditions only. Do not operate the tool indarkness or fog.3. During operation, never stand on an unstableor slippery surface or a steep slope. Duringthe cold season, beware of ice and snow andalways ensure secure footing.4. During operation, keep bystanders or animalsat least 15 m away from the tool. Stop the toolas soon as someone approaches.5. When working with two or more people, keep adistance of at least 15 m or more between eachother, and put a supervisor.6. Before operation, examine the work area forwire fences, walls, or other solid objects. Theycan damage the saw chain.Preparation1. Before assembling or adjusting the tool, switchoff the tool and remove the battery cartridge.2. Before handling the saw chain or adjusting thechain tension, wear protective gloves.3. Before starting the tool, inspect the tool fordamages, loose screws/nuts or improperassembly. Sharpen blunt saw chain. If the sawchain is bent or damaged, replace it. Check allcontrol levers and switches for easy action.Clean and dry the grips.4. Never attempt to start the tool if the tool isdamaged or not fully assembled. Otherwiseserious injury may result.5. Adjust the shoulder harness to suit the opera-tor’s body size.6. Adjust the chain tension properly. Refill thechain oil, if necessary.Starting the tool1. Wear the personal protective equipmentsbefore starting the tool.2. Before starting the tool, make sure that thereis no person or animal in the work area.3. When installing the battery cartridge, keep thesaw chain and guide bar clear of your body andother object, including the ground. The saw chainmay move when starting and may cause seriousinjury or damage to the saw chain and/or property.4. Place the tool on firm ground. Maintain goodbalance and secure footing.Operation1. In the event of an emergency, switch off thetool immediately.2. If you notice any unusual condition (e.g. noise, vibra-tion) during operation, switch off the tool. Do not usethe tool until the cause is recognized and solved.3. The saw chain continues to move for a shortperiod after switching off the tool. Don’t rushto contact the saw chain. |
