12NOTE:• The front grip has a edge-to-edge cut slit in itsmounting area. Using this slit allows you to easilyinstall the front grip on the front grip holder.The front grip angle is adjustable. To adjust the frontgrip angle, loosen the claming nut, set the front grip atan proper angle according to your work and then tightenthe nut clockwise firmly.Installing the guardCAUTION:• While installing the guard, be careful not tocontact the nylon cord cutter provided on theguard. Contact with the cutter could result inpersonal injury.Fig.9Mount the guard by fitting it on to the motor housing sothat the Nylon cord is not pinched between the guardand the motor housing, and then secure it with twoscrews. Before starting the trimmer, take away thecutter cover from the cord cutter.Installing or removing the Nylon cutting headWARNING:• Before installing or removing the Nylon cuttinghead (both spool cover and spool, andhereafter called this way), make sure that thetool is switched off and the battery cartridge isremoved from the tool. Failure to switch off thetool and remove the battery cartridge may cause apersonal injury.CAUTION:• While installing or removing the Nylon cuttinghead, be careful not to contact the nylon cordcutter provided on the guard. Contact with thecutter could result in personal injury.Fig.10Fig.11To remove the Nylon cutting head (spool and spoolcover) from the string trimmer, press in the latchesforcefully on both sides of the spool cover and raise it.Fig.12NOTICE:• Make sure that the spring is installed inside thespool holder.To install a cord-newly-wound Nylon cutting head (spooland spool cover) on the string trimmer, align the Nyloncord eyehole with the notch of the Nylon cutting headinstallation port on the trimmer and then press in it untila click is heard.Winding a new Nylon cord on the spoolFig.13Remove the spool from the spool cover and take off theremaining used Nylon cord from the spool.Fig.14Insert a Nylon cord to the retainer shown in the figure.Fig.15Wind it tightly flat around the spool in the direction ofarrow on the spool so that the wound Nylon cordsurface appears uniform over the winding area.Fig.16Temporarily fix a Nylon cord at the notch shown in thefigure.Fig.17Bring the Nylon cord through the Nylon cord eyehole inthe spool cover.Fig.18After installing the Nylon cutting head, make sure thatthe Nylon cord comes out by pressing the spool andpulling the Nylon cord.OPERATIONAttachment of shoulder strap12012395Hook the shoulder strap in a hole in the front grip.OPERATIONCAUTION:• Do not cut high grass at a time.
