6 ENGLISHBattery tool use and care1. Recharge only with the charger speciied bythe manufacturer. A charger that is suitable forone type of battery pack may create a risk of irewhen used with another battery pack.2. Use power tools only with speciically desig-nated battery packs. Use of any other batterypacks may create a risk of injury and ire.3. When battery pack is not in use, keep it awayfrom other metal objects, like paper clips,coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metalobjects, that can make a connection from oneterminal to another. Shorting the battery termi -nals together may cause burns or a ire.4. Under abusive conditions, liquid may beejected from the battery; avoid contact. If con-tact accidentally occurs, lush with water. Ifliquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medicalhelp. Liquid ejected from the battery may causeirritation or burns.5. Do not use a battery pack or tool that is dam-aged or modiied. Damaged or modiied batteriesmay exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting inire, explosion or risk of injury.6. Do not expose a battery pack or tool to ire orexcessive temperature. Exposure to ire or tem -perature above 130 °C may cause explosion.7. Follow all charging instructions and do notcharge the battery pack or tool outside thetemperature range speciied in the instruc -tions. Charging improperly or at temperaturesoutside the speciied range may damage thebattery and increase the risk of ire.Service1. Have your power tool serviced by a qualiiedrepair person using only identical replacementparts. This will ensure that the safety of the powertool is maintained.2. Never service damaged battery packs. Serviceof battery packs should only be performed by themanufacturer or authorized service providers.3. Follow instruction for lubricating and chang-ing accessories.Important safety instructions forbattery cartridge1. Before using battery cartridge, read all instruc-tions and cautionary markings on (1) batterycharger, (2) battery, and (3) product usingbattery.2. Do not disassemble battery cartridge.3. If operating time has become excessivelyshorter, stop operating immediately. It mayresult in a risk of overheating, possible burnsand even an explosion.4. If electrolyte gets into your eyes, rinse themout with clear water and seek medical atten-tion right away. It may result in loss of youreyesight.5. Do not short the battery cartridge:(1) Do not touch the terminals with any con-ductive material.(2) Avoid storing battery cartridge in a con-tainer with other metal objects such asnails, coins, etc.(3) Do not expose battery cartridge to wateror rain.A battery short can cause a large currentlow, overheating, possible burns and even abreakdown.6. Do not store the tool and battery cartridge inlocations where the temperature may reach orexceed 50 °C (122 °F).7. Do not incinerate the battery cartridge even ifit is severely damaged or is completely wornout. The battery cartridge can explode in a ire.8. Be careful not to drop or strike battery.9. Do not use a damaged battery.10. The contained lithium-ion batteries are subjectto the Dangerous Goods Legislation require-ments.For commercial transports e.g. by third parties,forwarding agents, special requirement on pack-aging and labeling must be observed.For preparation of the item being shipped, consult-ing an expert for hazardous material is required.Please also observe possibly more detailednational regulations.Tape or mask off open contacts and pack up thebattery in such a manner that it cannot movearound in the packaging.11. Follow your local regulations relating to dis-posal of battery.12. Use the batteries only with the productsspeciied by Makita. Installing the batteries tonon-compliant products may result in a ire, exces -sive heat, explosion, or leak of electrolyte.SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.CAUTION: Only use genuine Makita batteries.Use of non-genuine Makita batteries, or batteries thathave been altered, may result in the battery burstingcausing ires, personal injury and damage. It willalso void the Makita warranty for the Makita tool andcharger.Tips for maintaining maximumbattery life1. Charge the battery cartridge before completelydischarged. Always stop tool operation andcharge the battery cartridge when you noticeless tool power.2. Never recharge a fully charged battery car-tridge. Overcharging shortens the batteryservice life.3. Charge the battery cartridge with room tem-perature at 10 °C - 40 °C (50 °F - 104 °F). Leta hot battery cartridge cool down beforecharging it.4. Charge the battery cartridge if you do not useit for a long period (more than six months). |
