19Cleaning/changing the air ilterIf the air ilter becomes clogged, it may cause poor engineperformance. Therefore, every time after using the Power Cutter,be sure to clean the air ilter in the following way.• Turn the cover lock to the left and remove it.• Remove the top cover after blowing off dust from it.• Next, remove the preilter.• Wash the preilter in water-diluted detergent, and dry themcompletely. Do not squeeze or rub the preilter when washing.• Apply 40 ml of new 2-stroke/4-stroke engine oil onto thepreilter, grasp it softly to disperse engine oil evenly.• Set the preilter into the top cover irmly.• With aligning the top cover’s tooth with the counter part of thehousing, tighten the cover lock.In addition to the cleaning above, perform following steps whenthe interval listed in “Maintenance chart” passes.• Remove the four star-shaped screws.• Remove the ilter cover.• Remove the air ilter.• Remove the dust bag ilter from the ilter cover and gently tapand blow on it to clean.• Gently tap and blow on the inner ilter to remove dirt and dust.Also, periodically wash the inner ilter in soapy water and drythoroughly.• To clean the air ilter tap it gently. If an air compressor is to beused, blow the compressed air onto the inside of the air ilter.Do not wash the air ilter.• Blow off dust from around the ilters.• Reassemble the air ilter to ilter cover once cleaning isinished.
