5FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off andunplugged before adjusting or checking functionon the tool.Switch action12014361CAUTION:• Before plugging in the tool, always check to seethat the switch trigger actuates properly andreturns to the "OFF" position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Toolspeed is increased by increasing pressure on the switchtrigger. Release the switch trigger to stop. Forcontinuous operation, pull the switch trigger, push in thelock button and then release the switch trigger. To stopthe tool from the locked position, pull the switch triggerfully, then release it.Reversing switch action1AB014362CAUTION:• Always check the direction of rotation beforeoperation.• Use the reversing switch only after the tool comesto a complete stop. Changing the direction ofrotation before the tool stops may damage the tool.NOTE:• When you operate the tool in counterclockwiserotation, the switch trigger is pulled only halfwayand the tool runs at half speed. Forcounterclockwise rotation, you cannot push in thelock button.This tool has a reversing switch to change the directionof rotation. Move the reversing switch lever tothe position (A side) for clockwise rotation orthe position (B side) for counterclockwise rotation.Selecting the action modeRotation with hammering12010724For drilling in concrete, masonry, etc., rotate the actionmode changing knob to the symbol. Use abull point, cold chisel, scaling chisel, etc.CAUTION:• Do not rotate the action mode changing knob when thetool is running under load.
