10LubricationCAUTION:• This servicing should be performed by MakitaAuthorized or Factory Service Centers only.This tool requires no hourly or daily lubrication becauseit has a grease-packed lubrication system. Lubricate thetool every time the carbon brushes are replaced.Run the tool for several minutes to warm it up. Switch offand unplug the tool.1 1008601Loosen the four screws and remove the handle. Notethat the top screws are different from other screws.1008607Disconnect the connector by pulling them.12008602Loosen the two screws on crank cap cover andremove the crank cap cover.1008603Align the change lever with the symbol , loosen thefive screws and then remove the crank cap.008604CAUTION:• Always remove the crank cap only after aligningthe change lever with the symbol . Never removeit forcibly without aligning the change lever with thesymbol . Failure to do so does not allowreassembling.008605Rest the tool on the table with the bit end pointingupwards. This will allow the old grease to collect insidethe crank housing.Wipe out the old grease inside and replace with a freshgrease (30 g). Use only Makita genuine hammer grease(optional accessory). Filling with more than the specifiedamount of grease (approx. 30 g) can cause faultyhammering action or tool failure.
