16 ENGLISHLighting the lampCAUTION: Do not look in the light or see thesource of light directly.To turn on the lamp without running the tool, pull theswitch trigger without pressing the lock-off button.To turn on the lamp with the tool running, press and holdthe lock-off button and pull the switch trigger.The lamp goes out 10 seconds after releasing theswitch trigger.► Fig.15: 1. LampNOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens ofthe lamp. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, orit may lower the illumination.NOTE: When the tool is overheated, the lamp blinksfor one minute. In this case, cool down the tool beforeanother operation.HookOptional accessoryCAUTION: Always remove the battery whenhanging the tool with the hook.CAUTION: Never hook the tool at high loca-tions or on the surfaces where the tool may losethe balance and fall. Otherwise falling accident mayoccur and cause serious injury.CAUTION: Do not pull the tool downwardwhen it is hooked.The hook is convenient for hanging the tool temporarily.► Fig.16Attach the hook with the screws as illustrated.► Fig.17: 1. If thetool consistently fails to quickly stop the circular sawblade after switch lever release, have tool serviced at aMakita service center.CAUTION: The blade brake system is not asubstitute for blade guard. NEVER USE TOOLWITHOUT A FUNCTIONING BLADE GUARD.SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY CAN RESULT.Electronic functionThe tools equipped with electronic function are easy tooperate because of the following feature(s).Soft start featureSoft start because of suppressed starting shock.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.Hex wrench storageWhen not in use, store the hex wrench as shown in thefigure to keep it from being lost.► Fig.19: 1. Hex wrenchRemoving or installing circular saw bladeCAUTION: Be sure the circular saw blade isinstalled with teeth pointing up at the front of the tool.CAUTION: Use only the Makita wrench toinstall or remove the circular saw blade.To remove the circular saw blade, press the shaft lock fullyso that the circular saw blade cannot revolve and use thehex wrench to loosen the hex bolt. Arrow on the toolTo install the circular saw blade, follow the removalprocedure in reverse.Align the direction of the arrow on the blade with thearrow on the tool.For tool with the inner flange forother than 15.88 mm hole-diametersaw bladeThe inner flange has a certain diameter protrusion on oneside of it and a different diameter protrusion on the other side.Choose a correct side on which protrusion fits into the sawblade hole perfectly. Mount the inner flange onto the mountingshaft so that the correct side of protrusion on the inner flangefaces outward and then place saw blade and outer flange.► Fig.23: 1. Mounting shaft 2. Inner flange 3. Circularsaw blade 4. Outer flange 5. Hex boltWARNING: BE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE HEXBOLT CLOCKWISE SECURELY. Also be carefulnot to tighten the bolt forcibly. Slipping your handfrom the hex wrench can cause a personal injury.WARNING: Make sure that the protrusion "a"on the inner flange that is positioned outside fitsinto the saw blade hole "a" perfectly. Mounting theblade on the wrong side can result in the dangerousvibration. |
