7FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTIONCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before adjusting orchecking function on the tool.Installing or removing battery cartridge12011326• Always switch off the tool before insertion orremoval of the battery cartridge.• To remove the battery cartridge, withdraw it fromthe tool while pressing the buttons on both sides ofthe cartridge.• To insert the battery cartridge, hold it so that thebattery cartridge front shape fits to that of thebattery installment opening and slip it into place.Always insert it all the way until it locks in place witha little click. If not, it may accidentally fall out of thetool, causing injury to you or someone around you.• Do not use force when inserting the batterycartridge. If the cartridge does not slide in easily, itis not being inserted correctly.Battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with the protection system, whichautomatically cuts off the output power for its long servicelife.The tool stops during operation when the tool and/orbattery are placed under the following situation. This iscaused by the activation of protection system and doesnot show the tool trouble.• When the tool is overloaded:At this time, release the switch trigger andremove causes of overload and then pull theswitch trigger again to restart.• When the remaining battery capacity gets low:Recharge the battery cartridge.Adjusting depth of cut12011327CAUTION:• After adjusting the depth of cut, always tighten theclamping screw securely.Loosen the clamping screw on the depth guide and movethe base up or down. At the desired depth of cut, securethe base by tightening the clamping screw.For cleaner, safer cuts, set cut depth so that no morethan one blade tooth projects below workpiece. Usingproper cut depth helps to reduce potential for dangerousKICKBACKS which can cause personal injury.Bevel cutting12011374Loosen the clamping screw on the bevel scale plate onthe front of the base. Set for the desired angle (0° - 45°)by tilting accordingly, then tighten the clamping screwsecurely.SightingAB 1011328For straight cuts, align the A position on the front of thebase with your cutting line.
