Kerf boardThis tool is provided with the kerf board inthe turn base. If the kerf groove has not yetbeen cut in the kerf board by the factory,you should cut the groove before actuallyusing the tool to cut a workpiece. Switchon the tool and lower the blade gently tocut a groove in the kerf board.Maintaining maximum cutting capacityUnplug the tool before any adjustment is attempted.This tool is factory adjusted to provide the max. cutting capacity for a 255 mm (IO")sawblade. When the diameter of the blade has been reduced due to sharpening, adjust thedepth adjusting bolt by turning it with the socket wrench. The saw blade is lowered byturning the depth adjusting bolt counterclockwise and raised by turning it clockwise. Adjustso that when the handle is in the fully lowered position, there will be a distance of about130 mm (5-1/8") from the front face of the guide fence to the point where the front edgeof the blade enters the kerf. With the tool unplugged, rotate the blade by hand while hold-ing the handle all the way down. Be sure that the blade does not contact any part of thelower base when the handle is lowered completely.Socket wrench130 m mI 15118'1Positioning for adjusting the miter angleLoosen the grip by turning counterclock-wise. Turn the turn base while pressingdown the latch spring. When you havemoved the grip to the position where thepointer indicates the desired angle on themiter scale, securely tighten the grip clock-wise.CAUTION:When turning the turn base, be sure to raise the handle fully.10
