9 ENGLISHASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and unplugged before carrying outany work on the tool.Installing or removing trimmer bitCAUTION: Do not tighten the collet nut with-out inserting a trimmer bit, or the collet cone willbreak.CAUTION: Use only the wrenches providedwith the tool.Insert the trimmer bit all the way into the collet cone andtighten the collet nut securely with the two wrenches.To remove the bit, follow the installation procedure inreverse.► Fig.4: 1. Loosen 2. Tighten 3. HoldOPERATIONCAUTION: Always hold the tool firmly withone hand on housing. Do not touch the metal part.1. Set the base on the workpiece to be cut withoutthe trimmer bit making any contact.2. Turn the tool on and wait until the trimmer bitattains full speed.3. Move the tool forward over the workpiece surface,keeping the base flush and advancing smoothly untilthe cutting is complete.► Fig.5When doing edge cutting, the workpiece surfaceshould be on the left side of the trimmer bit in the feeddirection.► Fig.6: 1. Straight guideNOTE: Moving the tool forward too fast may causea poor quality of cut, or damage to the trimmer bit ormotor. Moving the tool forward too slowly may burnand mar the cut. The proper feed rate will depend onthe bit size, the kind of workpiece and depth of cut.Before beginning the cut on the actual workpiece, itis advisable to make a sample cut on a piece of scraplumber. This will show exactly how the cut will look aswell as enable you to check dimensions.Templet guideThe templet guide provides a sleeve through which thetrimmer bit passes, allowing use of the trimmer withtemplet patterns.► Fig.81. Loosen the clamping screw and then remove theguide holder and the chip deflector.► Fig.9: 1. Clamping screw 2. Guide holder 3. Chipdeflector2. Loosen the screws and remove the baseprotector.► Fig.10: 1. Base protector 2. Screws3. Place the templet guide on the base, and placethe base protector again. Then secure the base protec-tor by tightening the screws.4. Secure the templet to the workpiece. Place thetool on the templet and move the tool with the templetguide sliding along the side of the templet.► Fig.11: 1. Trimmer bit 2. Base 3. Base protector4. Templet 5. Workpiece 6. Templet guideNOTE: The workpiece will be cut a slightly differentsize from the templet. Allow for the distance (X)between the trimmer bit and the outside of the templetguide. The distance (X) can be calculated by usingthe following equation:Distance (X) = (outside diameter of the templetguide - trimmer bit diameter) / 2Straight guideThe straight guide is effectively used for straight cutswhen chamfering.► Fig.121. Remove the guide holder and the chip deflectorthen attach the straight guide with the clamping screw.► Fig.14: 1. Clamping screw 2. Straight guide 3. Wingnut 4. Base3. Loosen the wing nut on the straight guide andadjust the distance between the trimmer bit and thestraight guide. At the desired distance, tighten the wingnut securely.4. When cutting, move the tool with the straight guideflush with the side of the workpiece.Trimmer guideTrimming, curved cuts in veneers for furniture and thelike can be done easily with the trimmer guide. Theguide roller rides the curve and assures a fine cut.► Fig.151. Attach the chip deflector on the groove of thebase.2. Install the trimmer guide and guide holder on thebase with the clamping screw (A). |
