8Switch action12011329CAUTION:• Before inserting the battery cartridge into the tool,always check to see that the switch trigger actuatesproperly and returns to the "OFF" position whenreleased.• Do not pull the switch trigger hard without pressingthe lock-off lever. This can cause switch breakage.To prevent the switch trigger from being accidentallypulled, a lock-off lever is provided. To start the tool, slidethe lock-off lever and pull the switch trigger. Release theswitch trigger to stop.WARNING:• For your safety, this tool is equipped with lock-offlever which prevents the tool from unintendedstarting. NEVER use the tool if it runs when yousimply pull the switch trigger without pressing thelock-off lever. Return tool a MAKITA service centerfor proper repairs BEFORE further usage.• NEVER tape down or defeat purpose and functionof lock-off lever.ASSEMBLYCAUTION:• Always be sure that the tool is switched off and thebattery cartridge is removed before carrying outany work on the tool.Removing or installing saw blade12011330CAUTION:• Be sure the blade is installed with teeth pointing upat the front of the tool.• Use only the Makita wrench to install or remove theblade.To remove the blade, press the shaft lock fully so that theblade cannot revolve and use the wrench to loosen thehex bolt counterclockwise. Then remove the hex bolt,outer flange and blade.1234011331To install the blade, follow the removal procedure inreverse. BE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE HEX BOLTCLOCKWISE SECURELY.123 456011386NOTE:• If a inner flange is removed by chance, install theinner flange so that its protrusion (bigger side)faces inside as shown in the figure.When changing blade, make sure to also clean upperand lower blade guards of accumulated sawdust.
