8 ENGLISHIndicator lamps RemainingcapacityLighted Off75% to 100%50% to 75%25% to 50%0% to 25%NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and theambient temperature, the indication may differ slightlyfrom the actual capacity.Battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a battery protection system.This system automatically cuts off power to the motor toextend battery life.The tool will automatically stop during operation if thetool and/or battery are placed under one of the followingconditions:Overloaded:The tool is operated in a manner that causes it to drawan abnormally high current.In this situation, turn the tool off and stop the applicationthat caused the tool to become overloaded. Then turnthe tool on to restart.If the tool does not start, the battery is overheated. Inthis situation, let the battery cool before turning the toolon again.Low battery voltage:The remaining battery capacity is too low and the toolwill not operate. If you turn the tool on, the motor doesnot run or the motor runs again but stops soon. In thissituation, remove and recharge the battery.Switch action► Fig.3: 1. Switch triggerCAUTION: Before installing the battery car-tridge into the tool, always check to see that theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns tothe “OFF” position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Toolspeed is increased by increasing pressure on the switchtrigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.Lighting up the front lamp► Fig.4: 1. LampCAUTION: Do not look in the light or see thesource of light directly.Pull the switch trigger to light up the lamp. The lampkeeps on lighting while the switch trigger is being pulled.The lamp goes out approximately 10 seconds afterreleasing the switch trigger.NOTE: Use a dry cloth to wipe the dirt off the lens ofthe lamp. Be careful not to scratch the lens of lamp, orit may lower the illumination.Reversing switch action► Fig.5: 1. Reversing switch leverCAUTION: Always check the direction ofrotation before operation.CAUTION: Use the reversing switch only afterthe tool comes to a complete stop. Changing thedirection of rotation before the tool stops may dam-age the tool.CAUTION: When not operating the tool,always set the reversing switch lever to the neu-tral position.This tool has a reversing switch to change the directionof rotation. Depress the reversing switch lever from theA side for clockwise rotation or from the B side for coun-terclockwise rotation.When the reversing switch lever is in the neutral posi-tion, the switch trigger cannot be pulled.ASSEMBLYCAUTION: Always be sure that the tool isswitched off and the battery cartridge is removedbefore carrying out any work on the tool.Selecting correct impact socketAlways use the correct size impact socket for bolts andnuts. An incorrect size impact socket will result in inac-curate and inconsistent fastening torque and/or damageto the bolt or nut.Installing or removing impact socketOptional accessoryCAUTION: Make sure that the impact socketand the mounting portion are not damaged beforeinstalling the impact socket.CAUTION: After inserting the impact socket,make sure that it is firmly secured. If it comes out,do not use it.NOTE: The way of impact socket installation variesdepending on the type of the square drive on the tool.Tool with the ring springFor impact socket without O-ring and pin► Fig.6: 1. Impact socket 2. Square drive 3. RingspringPush the impact socket onto the square drive until itlocks into place.To remove the impact socket, simply pull it off.
