The indicator lampslight up for few seconds.Indicator lamps RemainingcapacityLighted Off Blinking75% to 100%50% to 75%25% to 50%0% to 25%Charge thebattery.The batterymay havemalfunctioned.NOTE: Depending on the conditions of use and theambient temperature, the indication may differ slightlyfrom the actual capacity.Tool / battery protection systemThe tool is equipped with a tool/battery protection sys-tem. This system automatically cuts off power to themotor to extend tool and battery life. The tool will auto-matically stop during operation if the tool or battery isplaced under one of the following conditions:Overload protectionWhen the battery is operated in a manner that causesit to draw an abnormally high current, the tool automat-ically stops without any indication. In this situation, turnthe tool off and stop the application that caused the toolto become overloaded. Then turn the tool on to restart.Overheat protectionWhen the tool/battery is overheated, the tool stopsautomatically. In this situation, let the tool/battery coolbefore turning the tool on again.Overdischarge protectionWhen the battery capacity is not enough, the tool stopsautomatically. In this case, remove the battery from thetool and charge the battery.NOTE: Overheat protection (for battery) will work onlywith batteries with star marking.1► 1. Star markingSwitch action1► 1. Switch triggerCAUTION: Before installing the battery car-tridge into the tool, always check to see that theswitch trigger actuates properly and returns tothe "OFF" position when released.To start the tool, simply pull the switch trigger. Toolspeed is increased by increasing pressure on the switchtrigger. Release the switch trigger to stop.NOTE: The tool automatically stops if you keep pull-ing the switch trigger for about 6 minutes.Electric brakeThis tool is equipped with an electric brake. If the toolconsistently fails to quickly stop after the switch triggeris released, have the tool serviced at a Makita servicecenter.
