Ice Machine Operation Section 33-4 Part Number 80-1631-3Operational ChecksGENERALManitowoc ice machines are factory-operated andadjusted before shipment. Normally, new installations donot require any adjustment. To ensure proper operation, always follow theOperational Checks:• when starting the ice machine for the first time• after a prolonged out of service period• after cleaning and sanitizingNOTE: Routine adjustments and maintenanceprocedures are not covered by the warranty.WATER LEVELThe water level sensor is set to maintain the properwater level above the water pump housing. The waterlevel is not adjustable. If the water level is incorrect, check the water level probe for damage (probe bent,etc.). Clean the water level probe with ice machinecleaner, rinse thoroughly and re-check operation. Repairor replace the probe as necessary.ICE THICKNESS CHECKThe ice thickness probe is factory-set to maintain the icebridge thickness at 1/8" (.32 cm).NOTE: Make sure the water curtain is in place whenperforming this check. It prevents water from splashingout of the water trough.1. Inspect the bridge connecting the cubes. It shouldbe about 1/8" (.32 cm) thick.2. If adjustment is necessary, turn the ice thicknessprobe adjustment screw clockwise to increasebridge thickness, counterclockwise to decreasebridge thickness. Set at 1/4” gap between icemachine and evaporator as starting point, thenadjust to achieve a 1/8” bridge thickness.Ice Thickness Check3. Make sure the ice thickness probe wire and thebracket do not restrict movement of the probe.Water Level Probe LocationSV3132ADJUSTING SCREW1/8” ICE BRIDGE THICKNESS
