AUDYSSEY DYNAMIC VOLUMEAudyssey Dynamic Volume delivers consistent volume playback levels, anticipating sudden spikes and dips in volume and compensating for themin real time. Audyssey Dynamic Volume monitors the volume of programmaterial moment-by-moment, maintaining the desired listening level for allcontent while optimizing the dynamic range to preserve the impact.Audyssey Dynamic Volume includes Audyssey Dynamic EQ, whichcompensates for deteriorating sound quality as volume is decreasedby taking into account human perception and room acoustics. Thesetwo technologies enable the full frequency response of the source at itsoriginal level to be reproduced at any listening level. Even at lower listeningvolumes, Dynamic Volume ensures that the richness and dynamics of theresponse are maintained.Audyssey Dynamic Volume can be set to the following levelsLight: Provide the least adjustment to the loudest or softest soundlevel.Medium: Setting that prevents loud and soft sound from being muchlouder than their respective average sound levels.Heavy: Affect volume the most by causing all sound to be of equalloudness.NOTEAudyssey Dynamic EQ must be set to “On” to activate Audyssey DynamicVolume. If Audyssey Dynamic EQ is set “Off”, Audyssey Dynamic Volumewill also remain “Off”.IMPORTANT NOTICEIf Audyssey Auto Calibration is not set up, the relative balance of yoursystem’s loudspeakers has to be manually adjusted (with the aid of a SPLmeter) for Audyssey Dynamic Volume and Audyssey Dynamic EQ to beeffective. If the speakers are not properly calibrated, the correspondingAudyssey Dynamic Volume and Audyssey Dynamic EQ responses couldbe distorted. Refer also to the item about “USING SPL METER” in theSPEAKER LEVELS section below.TONE CONTROLSThe M15 HD has three Tone Control levels – Treble, Bass and Center Dialog.Bass and Treble controls only affect the low bass and high treble leaving thecritical midrange frequencies free of coloration. The Center Dialog (‘Dialog’in the VFD) control boosts the ‘presence’ of the midrange region improvingintelligibility of speech. These controls allow one to tweak on-the-fly, the frequency responseof the source during playback. The control setting could be adjusted bynavigating through the Tone Controls’ OSD menu via a combination ofENTER and keys. The same can be managed directly by pressing thefront panel’s ‘TONE CONTROLS’ button and then rotating the Volume knobto select desired setting.Maximum and minimum values for all three Tone Control levels are +/- 10 dB.‘Tone Defeat’ gives one the choice of varying or completely bypassingthe tone control section of the M15 HD. If ‘Off’ (‘Tone Active’ in the VFD) isselected, the Tone Control circuits are active.Select ‘On’ (‘Tone Defeat’ in the VFD) to bypass the Tone Controls effectivelydefeating the effect of the tone control circuits.NOTETone Control options can be directly selected or changed using HTRM’sTONE button with DEVICE SELECTOR set to AMP mode. Toggle TONEbutton to select “Treble”, “Bass” or “Dialog” and then use the [ ] toadjust their respective levels. Press TONE again to save the settings andat the same time move on to the next parameter or exit the parametersetting altogether.PICTURE CONTROLSPicture Controls allow video adjustments of the source material or sourcecomponents to suit one’s preference. Set the following levels or settingsaccording to desired level of preference.ASPECT MODEThe Aspect Mode allows one the choice of adjusting the video outputconfiguration of the M15 HD.Letterbox: Original aspect ratio is maintained, preserving the originalimage’s proportions. The unused areas of the screen are left blank.Zoom: Video display zooms in to the image or scene, cutting offportions that do not fit. Any unused areas of the screen are left blank(i.e., black band).Stretch: Image or scene is stretched sideways. Any unused areas of thescreen are left blank (i.e., black band).IMPORTANT NOTICEThere is no visible or discernable change in the video display for any ofthe above three aspect modes if the “Aspect Ratio” of both the sourcecomponent and the M15 HD’s Video Setup settings (see discussion about“Aspect Ratio” under “Video Setup” menu at “Setup Menu”) are exactlythe same.EDGE ENHANCEMENTFine details of an image’s hard edges are enhanced without adding ringingor halos. Select the level upon which the detected area will be enhanced.Threshold: Adjusts the sensitivity of the edge detection mechanism.A lower threshold results in more subtle boundaries of color beingidentified as edges. A threshold that is too low may result in some smallparts of surface textures, film grain or noise being incorrectly identifiedas being an edge.NOISE REDUCTIONThis setting addresses video distortion like video noise and blockingartifacts.OPERATIONUSING THE M15 HD – MAIN MENU14ENGLISH FRANÇAIS ESPAÑOL ITALIANO DEUTSCH NEDERLANDS SVENSKA РУССКИЙ
