Tandem Calls / Unsupervised ConferenceJoin two callers in Conference, leave the call, and let their conversation continue.Tandem Calls allows you to join two outside callers in a line-to-line conference. You can then drop out of the call, leaving thelines in an Unsupervised Conference. You are then not part of the conversation, and the Conference continues until either ofthe outside callers hangs up.Setting up a Tandem CallTo set up a Tandem Call:1. Place or answer an outside call.2. Press CONF.a) Your hear Intercom dial tone.b) Your caller hears Music on Hold (if installed) while they wait for you to set up the Conference.3. Do one of the following:a) Place or answer an outside call.b) Retrieve a call from Park Orbit.c) Retrieve a call from Hold.4. Press CONF to set up the Conference.a) If you cannot add additional parties to your Conference, you have exceeded the system’s Conference limit.5. Hang up.a) The line/loop keys for the outside lines stay on (red).b) If the outside parties disconnect, the lines you selected or your extension does not have Tandem Call capability.Disconnecting a Tandem CallTo disconnect a tandem call (using Forced Line Disconnect):1. Do one of the following:a) Press the line key for the busy line.b) Press INTERCOM and dial the line’s Direct Line Access code (e.g., 101 for line 1).See for Direct Line Access on page 64 more.2. Dial # to disconnect the Tandem Call.Barging In on a Tandem CallTo Barge In on a Tandem Call:1.
