We callfiles that have the “.mp3” file extension “MP3 files”. The recorder can not read an MP3 file that has a fileextension other than “.mp3”.About WMA(Window Media Audio) An WMA file is a Microsoft audio compressiontechnology. WMA(Windows Media Audio) offers double theaudio.compression of the MP3 format.MP3/WMA Disc compatibility with this recorderis limited as follows:1. CD-R physical format should be “ISO 9660” and“JOLIET”.2. If you record MP3/WMA files using the softwarewhich cannot create a FILE SYSTEM, for example“Direct-CD” etc., it is impossible to playbackMP3/WMA files. We recommend that you use“Easy-CD Creator”, which creates an ISO9660 orJOLIET file system.3. Total number of files and folders on the disc shouldbe less than 999.This Recorder requires discs/recordings to meetcertain technical standards in order to achieve optimalplayback quality. Pre-recorded DVDs are automaticallyset to these standards. There are many different typesof recordable disc formats (including CD-R containingMP3 or WMA files) that require certain pre-existingconditions (see above) to insure compatible playback.Customers should also note that permission isrequired in order to download MP3/WMA files andmusic from the Internet.
