8–8 Using FontsWhen the PCL interpreter is closed any downloadedfonts or macros will be lost, just as if you had turnedoff a regular PCL printer.You can preserve this information through the NECSuperScript Console to keep the PCL interpreteractive.1. Click the Start Button, point to Programs,NEC SuperScript tools, and then click NECSuperScript Console.2. Download macros or soft fonts in advanceusing the ADD button of the Local Queue tabto copy the macros or soft font data to theprinter.3. Minimize the SuperScript Console. (Place theSuperScript Console on the Taskbar.)4. Start or return to your application and printyour document.This will preserve your downloaded fonts andmacros. Also, if your next print job uses PCL, it willtake less time to print because the SuperScript PCLinterpreter has already been loaded. However, if youswitch from PCL to GDI or PostScript mode, thisinformation will be lost, just as if you were changingprinter languages in a conventional printer.NOTE: For Clients this feature can be used only ifthe Server activates the SuperScript Consoleprogram and adds the fonts and macros as describedabove.SAVINGDOWNLOADEDFONTS ANDMACROS(PCL MODE)
