13www.napoleongrills.comProblem Possible Causes SolutionBurner output on “high”setting is too low.(Rumbling noise andfluttering blue flame atburner surface.)Lack of gas.Supply hose is pinched.Dirty or clogged orifice.Spider webs or other matter inventuri tube.Propane regulator in “low flow”state.Check gas level in propane cylinder.Reposition supply hose as necessary.Clean burner orifice.Clean out venturi tube.Ensure lighting procedure is followed carefully. All gasgrill valves must be in the off position when the tankvalve is turned on. Turn tank on slowly to allow pressureto equalize. See lighting instructions.Infrared burner (ifequipped) flashes back(during operation theburner abruptly makesa loud “whoosh” sound, followed by a continuousblow-torch type soundand grows dim.)Ceramic tiles overloaded withgrease drippings and build-up.Ports are clogged.Burner overheated due toinadequate ventilation (too muchgrill surface covered by griddleor pan.)Cracked ceramic tile.Leaking gasket surrounding theceramic tile, or a weld failure inthe burner housing.Turn burner off and allow to cool for at least twominutes. Relight burner and burn on high for at least fiveminutes or until the ceramic tiles are evenly glowing red.Ensure that no more than 75% of the grill surface iscovered by objects or accessories. Turn burner off andallow to cool for at least two minutes, then relight.Allow burner to cool and inspect very closely forcracks. If any cracks are found, contact your authorizedNapoleon dealer to order a replacement burnerassembly.Contact your authorized Napoleon dealer for instructionson ordering a replacement burner assembly.Pilot will not light.(if equipped)Lack of gas.Obstruction in pilot orifice.Electrode wire loose or off.Dirty pilot electrode.Pilot is actually lit. After turning pilot knob to high, wait approximately20-30 seconds for air to purge the gas supply line whilepressing igniter. Fill propane cylinder. During initial set- upor after tank has been refilled, it is best to light one ofthe tube burners before lighting the pilot burner. Thisenables the gas to reach the valves on the manifold morequickly.Clean pilot orifice.Replace lead wire.Clean pilot electrode. The pilot flame, especially on natural gas units is verydifficult to see. Place your hand 1 in. (2.5 cm) above grillsurface over the pilot burner to feel for heat.
