Turn in aclockwise direction to reduce the gas flow.Check Pressure Readings:Inlet pressure can be checked by turning screw (A) counter-clockwise 2 or 3 turns and then placing pressure gauge tubingover the test point. Gauge should read as described on the chartbelow. Check that main burner is operating on “HI”.Outlet pressure can be checked the same as above usingscrew (B). Gauge should read as described on the chartbelow. Check that main burner is operating on “HI”.AFTER TAKING PRESSURE READINGS, BE SURE TOTURN SCREWS CLOCKWISE FIRMLY TO RESEAL. DONOT OVERTORQUE.Leak test with a soap and water solution.Prior to pilot adjustment, ensure that the pilot assemblyhas not been painted. If overspray or painting of the pilotassembly has occurred remove the paint from the pilotassembly, or replace. Fine emerycloth or sandpaper can be used toremove the paint from the pilot hood, electrode and flame sensor.39.1CA BPILOT SCREWFLAME MUST ENVELOPUPPER 3/8” (9.5mm) TO 1/2”(12.7mm) OF FLAME SENSORPILOTBURNERELECTRODEFLAMESENSOR3/8” - 1/2”(9.5mm - 12.7mm)PressureInletOutletNatural Gas(inches)Natural Gas(millibars)Propane(inches)Propane(millibars)7"(MIN. 4.5")3.5"13"(MIN. 11")10"17.4mb(MIN. 11.2mb)8.7mb32.4mb(MIN. 27.4mb)24.9mb9.2 PILOT BURNER ADJUSTMENT77.3Vertical installations may display a very active flame. If this appearance is not desirable, the vent exit mustbe restricted using a restrictor vent kit. Refer to “ACCESORIES” in the “REPLACEMENTS” section for theappropriate kit. This will reduce the velocity of the exhaust gases, slowing down the flame pattern and creatinga more traditional gentle flame appearance. Specific instructions are included with the kit.
