W415-0702 / 10.30.084714.0 TROUBLEShOOTINGSYMPTOM TEST SOLUTIONALL TROUBLE SHOOTING PROCEDURES SHOULD BE CARRIED OUT BY QUALIFIED TECHNICIANS OR INSTALLERS.Vacuum hose orfittings are blocked. The air inlet, burnpot, interiorcombustion airchambers, combustion blower,or exhaust pipe areblocked with ash orforeign material. The firebox is notproperly sealed.Vent pipe isincorrectlyinstalled. The vacuum switchwire connectionsare bad.The gray wires arepulled loose at theconnector on thewiring harness.Combustion blowerfailure.Control board notsending power tocombustion blower.Control board notsending power tovacuum switch.Vacuum switch hasfailed (very rare).- Unhook the air hose from the vacuum switch and blow through it. If air flows freely, the hose and tubeare fine. If air will not flow through the hose, use a wire coat hanger to clear the blockage.- Follow all cleaning procedures in the maintenance section of the manual.- Make sure the door is closed and that the gasket is in good shape. If the ash door has a latch, makesure the ash door is properly latched and the gasket is sealing well.- Check to make sure the vent pipe installation meets criteria in the manual.- Check the connectors that attach the blue wires to the vacuum switch.- Check to see if the blue wires are loose at the connector.- With the heater on, check to see if the combustion blower is running. If it is not, you will need to checkfor power going to the combustion blower. It should be at 115 volts. If there is power, the blower isdefective. If there is not, see the next step.- If there is no current going to the combustion blower, check all wire connections. If all wires areproperly connected, you have a defective control board.- There should be a 5-volt current (approximately) going to the vacuum switch after the heater has beenon for 30 seconds.- To test the vacuum switch, you will need to disconnect the air hose from the body of the heater. With theother end still attached to the vacuum switch, very gently suck on the loose end of the house (you maywant to remove the hose entirely off the heater and the vacuum switch first and make sure it is clear). Ifyou hear a click, the vacuum switch is working. BE CAREFUL, TOO MUCH VACUUM CAN DAMAGETHE VACUUM SWITCH.CAUTION: When checking connections, installing jumper wires (for test purposes only) or replacing components, unplug heater from the receptacle to prevent electrical shock or damage to the components.NOTE: Many of the following tests will require that the side panels are removed from the heater or the insert beremoved from its cavity to access the components. Before troubleshooting always confirm that all componentsare clean and free of ash build up.HEATER SHUTS OFF AND THE #2 LIGHT FLASHESTP - TROUblE ShOOTING_PEllET_45
