This kit must not be used in mobile homes. Consult with a heating specialistto ensure a proper duct layout for your home. Longer runs should have largerdiameter duct systems. Maximum allowable duct length is 50 feet (betweenappliance and most remote outlet). (A 50 foot run length loses approximately15% output) If the NZ62CH is installed at the bottom of the unit (CZ/NZ-26(WI)),it could introduce a cool draft into the room that the appliances is installed in.When attached to the top or sides of the unit, it provides a higher heat output.Combinations of one or more hot air gravity vents can be used in conjunction withthe central heating option.A maximum of ten 4” diameter, six 5”diameter or five 6” diameterruns may be installed. (FIGURE 1) The cross sectional area of theducting system must have a minimum of at least 50 sq. inchesthat is open at all times. (Example: If a 4” diameter pipe with a crosssection of 12 sq. inches is used, the minimum ducting allowed wouldbe 5 runs of 4” pipe. If a 5” diameter pipe with a cross section of 20 sq.inches is used, the minimum ducting allowed would be 3 runs of 5” pipe.If a 6” diameter pipe with a cross section of 28 sq. inches is used, theminimum ducting allowed would be 2 runs of 6” pipe.) Use either rigid orflexible metal ducts, 8” in diameter or equivalent and support every threefeet. For rigid duct work, use the insulated mounting clamps to reduce vibration noise. Whenusing these clamps, run screws through the blower flanges only, never into the duct. Duct runspassing through an unheated part of the home should be insulated.Care should be taken when installing the blower so that the blower noise does not affectrooms needed to be kept quiet. Only one blower may be installed. Ensure that the installationlocation is accessible for future maintenance. Turning the blower on causes negative pressurein the duct work which, in turn, opens the backdraft damper. This damper prevents hot airfrom entering the duct work unless the blower is operating. The damper prevents the ductsfrom overheating any surrounding combustible materials and causing a fire. Hot air ductsbetween the appliance and the blower must be run at a 1 inch minimum clearance tocombustibles; at this point, clearances are reduced to zero. Insulation of these hot airducts is not required when maintaining these clearances to combustibles. If the room containing the appliance can be self-contained (door closed), be sure to providesufficient combustion air. Insufficient combustion air may create draft or smoking problems.Install ventilation grilles with a minimum opening of 75 squareinches between the self contained room and an adjoining openspace if smoking problems exist. The line voltage thermostat provided should be located in themain room to be heated (do NOT install in the room containingthe appliance) and controls the central heating blower. Wirein the blower using a 115 volt, 15 amp breaker. A shut-off ordamper may not be installed on the outlet or duct work feedingthe room containing the thermostat. Use the line voltagethermostat provided. A 24V or millivolt thermostat will notfunction.A factory installed thermodisc, located inside the outer shellabove the louvered control door, ensures that the bloweroperates only when the appliances is in use and hot. The switchis also used to operate the optional fans. Venting options may beincorporated as shown below.NZ62CH CENTRAL HEATING KITINSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONSINSTALLATION TO BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED INSTALLER to conform with local codes.
