Turn tank onslowly to allow pressure to equalize. See lightinginstructions.Pipe must be sized according to installation code.Preheat grill with both main burners on high for 10to 15 minutes.Excessive flare-ups/uneven heat.Sear plates installed incorrectly.Improper preheating.Excessive grease and ash build on searplates and in drip pan.Ensure sear plates are installed with the holestowards the front and the slots on the bottom. Seeassembly instructions.Preheat grill with both main burners on high for 10to 15 minutes.Clean sear plates and drip pan regularly. Do notline pan with aluminum foil. Refer to cleaninginstructions.Burners burn withyellow flame,accompanied by thesmell of gas.Possible spider web or other debris, orimproper air shutter adjustment.Thoroughly clean burner by removing. See generalmaintenance instructions. Open air shutterslightly according to combustion air adjustmentinstructions. (This must be done by a qualified gasinstaller.)Flames lift away fromburner, accompaniedby the smell of gas, andpossibly difficulties inlighting.Improper air shutter adjustment. Close air shutter slightly according to combustionair adjustment instructions. (This must be done bya qualified gas installer.)Burner will not light withthe igniter, but will lightwith a match.Dead battery / or installed incorrectly.Loose electrode wire or switch terminalwires.Wrong replacement igniter.Improper gap at electrode tip.Lifting flames on burner.Replace with heavy duty battery.Check that electrode wire is firmly pushed ontothe terminal on the back of the igniter. Check thatthe lead wires from the module to the ignitionswitch (if equipped) are firmly pushed onto theirrespective terminals.One spark systems must use a one spark igniter.Ensure that the collector box is tight and the gapbetween the electrode end and the collector box isbetween 1/8” - 3/16” (3mm-5mm). The gap can beadjusted by bending the box in or out.Close air shutter slightly - see previous problem.Humming regulator. Normal occurrence on hot days. This is not a defect. It is caused by internalvibrations in the regulator and does not affect theperformance or safety of the gas grill. Hummingregulators will not be replaced.Burners will not crosslight each other.Plugged ports along back of burner. Clean burner ports. See burner maintenanceinstructions.“Paint” appears to bepeeling inside lid orhood.Grease build-up on inside surfaces. This is not a defect. The finish on the lid and hoodis porcelain, and will not peel. The peeling iscaused by hardened grease, which dries into paint-like shards, that flake off. Regular cleaning willprevent this. See cleaning instructions.
