9TROUBLESHOOTINGProblem Possible Causes SolutionLow heat / Low flame whenvalve turned to high. For propane - improper lightingprocedure.Ensure lighting procedure is followed carefully. All gas grillvalves must be in the off position when the tank valve isturned on. Turn tank on slowly to allow pressure to equalize.See lighting instructions. For natural gas - undersizedsupply line.Pipe must be sized according to installation code. For both gases - improperpreheating.Pre-heat grill with main burners on high for 10 to 15 minutes.Excessive flare-ups/unevenheat.Sear plates installed incorrectly. Ensure sear plates are installed correctly. The archs withoutslots should be located directly above the left and rightburners. When the sear plates are installed correctly, six ofthe eight slots should be in valleys.Improper pre-heating. Refer to cleaning instructions.Burners burn with yellowflame, accompanied by thesmell of gas.Possible spider web or otherdebris, or improper air shutteradjustment.Thoroughly clean burner by removing. See generalmaintenance instructions. Open air shutter slightly accordingto combustion air adjustment instructions.Burner will not light with theigniter, but will light with amatch.Dead battery / or installedincorrectly.Replace with heavy duty 'AAA' battery. Install with positiveterminal up.Loose electrode wire. Check that electrode wire is firmly pushed onto the terminalon the back of the igniter.Wrong replacement igniter. Normal occurance on hot days. This is not a defect. It is caused by internal vibrations in theregulator, and does not affect the performance or safety of thegas grill.Burners will not crosslighteach other.Plugged ports along back ofburner.Clean burner ports. See burner maintenance instructions.Improper air shutter adjustment. Close air shutter slightly according to combustion airadjustment instructions.Flames lift away fromburner, accompanied by thesmell of gas, and possiblydifficulties in lighting.Lifting flames on burner.
