Connect the SC-2050 to the 100-pinAT-MIO-16DE-10 and PCI-6071E via a 100-pin R1005050 cable,available separately. Make this connection with the host computer poweredoff. Connect one end of the ribbon cable to the SC-2050 at either connectorJ1 or J2. Connect the other end to the DAQ device installed in yourcomputer.Warning Do not connect the SC-2050 to a board for which it is not designed. Suchconnection can damage the SC-2050 and any or all boards/accessories connectedto the SC-2050 and host computer. National instruments is NOT liable for anydamages resulting from incorrect connections.To connect your SC-2050 to the signal conditioning accessories, use a typeNB7, 26-pin ribbon cable. This cable connects the SC-2050 to any of theSC-206X Series boards or to the 5B Series backplane. An 8-channel SSRSeries backplane with a 26-conductor ribbon cable is also available forconnection to the SC-2050. For instructions on making these connectionsto the proper signal conditioning accessories, refer to Cable Connections inChapter 10, Installation and Operation.ConnectorsThe SC-2050 has two 50-pin ribbon cable connectors that are connectedpin-by-pin to each other. You can use either of these connectors to attachthe SC-2050 to the DAQ device via a cable. You can daisy-chain thesecond connector to other 50-pin accessories.The SC-2050 also has three 26-pin ribbon cable connectors that you can useto connect to the signal conditioning accessories. The analog ports have pinconnections that are compatible with the 5B Series of analog signalconditioning modules. The digital ports are compatible with the SC-206XSeries digital signal conditioners as well as with the 8-channel SSR Seriessolid-state relay board.Figure 2-2 illustrates the connections between the SC-2050 and thenecessary accessories and devices.
