Plug in and turn on your computer.The PCI-5411 or AT-5411 is now installed.Hardware ConfigurationThe DAQArb 5411 is a fully software-configurable, Plug and Playdevice. Configuration information is stored in nonvolatile memory. ThePlug and Play services query the device, read the information, andallocate resources for items such as base address, interrupt level, andDMA channel. After assigning these resources, the operating systemenables the device for operation.Installing the Optional Memory ModuleThe standard onboard memory for the DAQArb 5411 is 4 MB. You canupgrade to a 16 MB memory module to store large waveform buffersdirectly on the card. Perform the following steps to install the newmemory module:1. Turn off the computer and remove the top cover or access port tothe I/O channel.2. Unscrew the bracket and remove the DAQArb 5411 from the slot ithas been plugged into.3. Gently place your DAQArb 5411 on a flat surface with thecomponent and memory module side facing up.4. Unfasten the two screws on the side of the memory module.5. Gently unplug the memory module from the main board and storethe old memory module in an antistatic bag to avoid damage to thecomponents.6. Properly align the new 16 MB memory module over the connectorsand plug it into the connectors.7. Fasten the two screws you removed in step 4.8. Follow the regular installation steps described in the Installationsection earlier in this chapter.
