6Message Programming & Operation:All messages that are available for the Messager USBi are loaded from an industry standard USB flash drive.Messages should be formatted as a mono MP3 file not to exceed 128bps @ 48KHz. Follow these steps to add orremove files from a USB flash drive.Step 1: Plug the USB flash drive into an available USB port on a any PC or MAC compatible computer. The flashdrive should show up as a “Removable Disk” on the computer.Step 2: Drag ‘n’ drop the file(s) to the USB flash drive in the order you want them to be played on the unit.If removal of files are required then select the files and press the key on the keyboard.Step 3: Remove the USB flash drive from the computer.Step 4: Plug (hot-swap) the USB flash drive into the Messager USBi while power is ON to load audio. The StatusLED will SLOW BLINK while audio is being loaded to the internal memory. A standard MOH production willtake about 15 to 20 seconds to load.Step 5:When the Status LED is SOLID the transfer is complete and the unit will begin playing from internalmemory. The USB flash drive can be left in the Messager USBi or removed. If the USB drive ever needs to be erased completely then it can be formatted using your computer. Drives smallerthan 2GB can be formatted using FAT, and drives 2GB or larger can use FAT32.Note: Audio files should be named using alpha-numeric labels (A -Z, 0 -9).Any other characters or symbols, such as +, -, /, (, ), &, etc. should NOT be used.Troubleshooting:Problem Possible ReasonStatus LED - OFF Power pack not plugged in or on a switched outletStatus LED - BLINKING SLOW Unit is loading from USB media to internal memoryStatus LED - BLINKING FAST No audio on unit or USB media not inserted correctlyFiles are encrypted with Sonocrypt, or improperly namedMOH message not playing Check to see if unit is loadingCheck volume output level by adjusting the VOLUME potCheck OUTPUT connection from unit to phone or PA systemTry switching between the 8Ω and 600Ω OUTPUT connectionsSkipping over files File not compatible with unit/encrypted filePopping audio File was encoded using too high of a bit-rateFile incompatible with unitFile audio starting too close to beginning of fileDistorted audio Check to make sure volume is not too highCheck MP3 file qualityTry switching between the 8Ω and 600Ω OUTPUT connectionsFile was encoded using too high of a bit-rateFile was encoded using too low of a bit-rateFile incompatible with unit
