Electric Power Generation Installation and maintenance 5513 en - 2017.10 / aD700 digital voltage regulatorPage 102/132• The limits of this reference should be fixed as required. In the screenshot below they are 1 (drawingreactive power as seen by the generator) and 0.8 (supplying reactive power as seen by the generator). The active limits should be those of the alternator to keep the machine in its capability diagram, butalso those fixed in this page. In certain conditions, there can be a grid power factor reference limitwithout actually being at the limit of this reference because the machine power factor reference isactive. These reference limits define the light green area on the capability diagram in which the referencecan vary.4.3.9.14. Step 13: Regulation of the field current (manual mode)• This regulation is used to control the value of the field current directly. It is mainly used duringcommissioning or as fallback mode if a measurement is incorrect on the AVR (alternator voltagemeasurement or alternator current measurement for example).• It takes priority over all the other regulation modes that might be active.• To enable field current regulation, select the activation type from the drop-down list. This can be:• Controlled by a digital input (DI1 to DI16).• Always enabled by selecting “Always active”. In this case, field current regulation is alwaysenabled, depending on the order of priority of the regulations.• If “None” is selected, field current regulation is never enabled or is enabled by a logic gate.• The home reference point is determined by the drop-down list:• By a fixed value in the configuration. In this case, this value can be changed by the fieldbus.• By an analog input with a range to be determined.
