16ChJEnGFSITCkLens hoods HK-29-1 and HK-29-2Two-part lens hoods (HK-29-1 for attachment to the front of the lens and HK-29-2for attachment to the front of HK-29-1) are provided.Using the HK-29-1: First, loosen the lens hood screw on the HK-29-1, slipHK-29-1 onto the front of the lens, then tighten the screw.Attaching the HK-29-2: Loosen the lens hood screw on the HK-29-2, slipHK-29-2 onto the front of the HK-29-1, then tighten the screw.Storing the lens hoods: First, reverse the HK-29-2, and slip it back onto theHK-29-1. Then reverse the HK-29-1 with the HK-29-2 attached, and slide bothback onto the front of the lens.Filter holder (Fig. 4, 5)Always use a filter. The slip-in filter holder is provided with a 52mm screw-in NikonNC filter. Use an L37C filter to cut ultraviolet rays and a slip-in circular polarizingfilter C-PL1L to cut unwanted reflections from non-metallic surface such as glass orwater.1 Press down on the filter holder knob, and turn counterclockwise until the whiteline on the knob is at a right angle to the axis of the lens.2 Pull the holder out and screw in the filter into the holder.•The filter holder can be attached either facing lens or camera side without havingany effect on your pictures.Dedicated gelatin filter holder (supplied accessories) (Fig. 6)A 55mm slip-in gelatin filter holder is supplied with the lens to match your shootingpurposes.Lens care•Clean the lens surface with a blower brush. To remove dirt and smudges, use asoft, clean cotton cloth or lens tissue moistened with ethanol (alcohol) or lenscleaner. Wipe in a circular motion from center to outer edge, taking care not toleave traces or touch other parts.•Never use thinner or benzene to clean the lens as this might damage the lens, resultin a fire, or cause health problems.•When storing the lens in the lens case, attach both front and rear caps.•When the lens will not be used for a long time, store it in a cool, dry place toprevent mold. Also store the lens away from direct sunlight or chemicals such ascamphor or naphthalene.•Do not get water on the lens or drop it in water as this will cause it to rust andmalfunction.•Reinforced plastic is used for some parts of the lens. To avoid damage, never leavethe lens in an excessively hot place.
