42Using the Scene ModeShooting Suited for the SceneTaking Pictures for a PanoramaThe camera focuses on the subject in the center of the frame. Use a tripod for bestresults.1 Display the shooting mode menu and choosep Panorama assist (A 33).The panorama direction icon (I) is displayed to show thedirection in which pictures will be joined.2 Use the multi selector to choose the directionand press k.Select how pictures will be joined together in thecompleted panorama; right (I), left (J), up (K) or down(L).The yellow panorama direction icon (II) is displayed tothe direction pressed and the direction is fixed when kis pressed. The white fixed direction I is displayed.Apply flash mode (A 28), self-timer (A 30), macro mode (A 31) and exposurecompensation (A 32) settings with this step, if necessary. Press k to reselect thedirection.3 Shoot the first picture.The first picture is superimposed in the firstthird of the monitor.4 Shoot the second picture.Compose the next picture so that it overlaps1/3 of the first picture and press the shutter-release button.Repeat until you have taken the necessarynumber of pictures to complete the scene.Panorama assist7777EndEnd 66
