18First StepsInserting Memory CardsPictures are stored in the camera’s internal memory (approximately 52 MB) or onremovable Secure Digital (SD) memory cards (available separately) (A 108).If a memory card is inserted in the camera, pictures are automatically stored on thememory card and pictures recorded to the memory card can be played back,deleted or transferred. Remove the memory card to store pictures in the internalmemory, or play back, delete or transfer pictures from the internal memory.1 Turn the camera off and open the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.If the power-on lamp is lit, press the power switch to turnoff the camera.Make sure that the camera is off (power-on lamp is off)before inserting or removing the memory card.2 Insert the memory card.Slide the memory card in correctly until it clicks intoplace.Close the battery-chamber/memory card slot cover.B Inserting Memory CardsInserting the memory card upside down or backwardscould damage the camera or the memory card. Makesure that the memory card is correctly oriented.
