88Recording and Playing Back MoviesRecording and Playing Back MoviesRecording MoviesYou can record movies by simply pressing the b (e movie-record) button.Color tones, white balance, and other settings are the same when recordingmovies as they are when taking pictures.1 Display the shooting screen.• The icon for the selected movie option is displayed.The default setting is d HD 1080pP(1920×1080) (A 91).* The maximum movie length shown in the illustrationsin this manual is for example purposes only.2 Press the b (e movie-record) buttonto start movie recording.• The camera focuses in the center of theframe. Focus areas are not displayed duringrecording.• When recording movies using d or a movie optionssetting with a 16:9 aspect ratio, the shooting screenchanges to a 16:9 aspect ratio (the area indicated atright is recorded).• If Photo info in Monitor settings (A 94) in thesetup menu is set to Movie frame+auto info, thearea that will be visible in the movie can be confirmedbefore movie recording starts.• The approximate remaining movie length is displayed. Do not open the battery-chamber/memory card slot coverbefore movies have been fully saved. Removing the memory card or the battery while a movie isbeing saved may result in loss of the movie data or damage to the camera or to the memory card.
