45Shooting FeaturesThe camera is equipped with a self-timer that releases the shutter 10 secondsor 2 seconds after you press the shutter-release button.Set Photo VR (A112) to Off in the setup menu when using a tripod tostabilize the camera during shooting.1 Press the multi selector J (n).2 Select n10s or n2s, and pressthe k button.• n10s (10 seconds): Use on importantoccasions, such as weddings.• n2s (2 seconds): Use to prevent camerashake.• If the setting is not applied by pressing thek button within a few seconds, theselection will be canceled.• When the shooting mode is Pet portrait scene mode, Y (pet portrait autorelease) is displayed (A28). The self-timer cannot be used.• When the shooting mode is set to smart portrait mode, a Smile timer(A36) and n Self-Collage (A37) are also available besides self-timer.3 Frame the picture and press the shutter-release buttonhalfway.• Focus and exposure are set.4 Press the shutter-releasebutton the rest of the waydown.• Countdown starts.
