99xxLive ViewFollow the steps below to take photographs in live view.1 Rotate the live view switch.The mirror will be raised and the view throughthe lens will be displayed in the camera monitor.The subject will no longer be visible in theviewfinder.2 Position the focus point.Position the focus point over your subject asdescribed on page 102.3 Focus.Press the shutter-release button halfway. Thefocus point will blink green while the camerafocuses. If the camera is able to focus, the focuspoint will be displayed in green; if the camera is unable to focus, the focus pointwill blink red (note that pictures can be taken even when the focus point blinksred; check focus in the monitor before shooting). Except in i and j modes,exposure can be locked by pressing the AE-L/AF-L button.4 Take the picture.Press the shutter-release button the rest of theway down. The monitor turns off and thememory card access lamp lights duringrecording. Do not remove the battery or memorycard or unplug the optional AC adapter untilrecording is complete. When shooting iscomplete, the photograph will be displayed in the monitor for a few seconds oruntil the shutter-release button is pressed halfway. The camera will then returnto live view mode.
