F-8Tips on Speedlight Care and Reference InformationFNotes on Batteries• The large amounts of current used by the Speedlight may resultin rechargeable batteries becoming unusable before reaching themanufacturer’s stated recharge/discharge limit.• When replacing the batteries, turn the product off and insert thereplacement batteries in the correct orientation.• Dirt on the battery terminals can interrupt the flow of current. Clean dirtfrom the terminals before inserting the batteries.• After being fired multiple times in quick succession, the Speedlightmay stop operating to allow the batteries to cool depending on batteryspecifications. Normal operation can be resumed once the batterieshave cooled sufficiently.• Batteries tend to lose capacity at low temperatures, recover lost voltagewhen allowed to rest, and slowly discharge when not in use. Be sure tocheck the battery level before use and replace the batteries before theyare fully discharged.• Do not store batteries in locations subject to high temperatures or highhumidity.• For information on handling and recharging rechargeable batteries, seethe documentation provided by the manufacturers of the batteries andthe battery charger.• Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Failure toobserve this precaution could cause the batteries to rupture.Ni-MHRecyclingrechargeablebatteriesUsed batteries are a valuable resource; toprotect the environment, recycle usedbatteries in accord with local regulations.
