Failure to check for leaks before use could result inirreparable damage to the camera.Important!After sealing the case, perform a final check for leaks.Immerse the case in water and check for leaks asdescribed in Steps 3–6 of “Check the Case forLeaks” ( 6). Check that the desiccant stays dryand that no water enters the case. If a leak isdetected, immediately remove the case from thewater, dry the camera and case thoroughly, andcheck that the O-ring is intact and the case prop-erly sealed. If the cause of the leak can not bedetermined, take the case to a Nikon-authorizedservice representative.
