The higher the sensitivity, the lesslight needed to make an exposure. Although a highISO rating is suited for taking pictures of subjects inaction or in poor lighting, high sensitivity is oftenassociated with “noise” -randomly spaced, brightly colored pixels concen-trated in dark parts of the image.[Auto] is equivalent to ISO 50 under normal conditions; when lighting is poorand the flash is off, the camera compensates by raising sensitivity to a maxi-mum of ISO 800 equivalent. Choose from values between ISO 50 and 1600equivalent.At settings other than [Auto], the current setting is displayed in the monitor(c 8). If [Auto] is selected and the sensitivity is raised above an ISO 50 equiv-alent, the W icon will be displayed (c 33).d Color OptionsMake colors more vivid or record pictures in mono-chrome.The effects of the selected option can be previewed in the monitor.
