To go forward, push the up arrow side of the switch.2. To go in reverse, push the down arrow side of theswitch.How to Fill the Solution TankThe solution tank fill port is located at the left side of themachine (see figure 29). To fill the solution tank, follow thisprocedure:1. Turn the key switch to the “OFF” position.2. Remove lid.3. Add a cleaning chemical to the solution tank. For thecorrect amount of chemical, follow the directions shownon the container. NOTE: Excess foam in the recoverytank could damage the vacuum motor, so use onlythe minimum amount of detergent necessary.WARNING: Always use low foam detergent. Toavoid the production of foam, beforestarting to clean, put a minimumquantity of antifoam liquid into therecovery tank. NEVER USE PUREACID.4. Fill the solution tank with clean water (see figure 29).5. After filling the solution tank, replace the solution tanklid.WARNING: Water solutions or cleaning materialsused with this type of machine canleave wet areas on the floor surface.These areas can cause a dangerouscondition for the operator or otherpersons. Always put CAUTION signsnear the area you are cleaning.WARNING: Machines can ignite flammablematerials and vapors. Do not usewith or near flammables such asgasoline, grain dust, solvents andthinners. Only use a cleaningconcentration recommended by thechemical manufacturer.WARNING: Nilfisk ALTO recommends amaximum water temperature of120°F (49°C).Operating the MachineNOTE: Before scrubbing with the machine, become familiarwith the operations and handling of the machine. Run themachine at the lowest traverse speed. Use the machine inan area that has no furniture or objects until you can do thefollowing:1. Traverse the machine in a straight direction, forwardand backward.2. Stop the machine safely.3. Turn the machine both left and right and return to astraight direction.4.
