03englishIVB 3-HIVB 5-HIVB 7-HDust Class H (high). Thedusts which belong tothis class are: dusts withOEL values, all carcinogenicdusts and dusts which are mixedwith pathogenic agents. Vacu-ums for Dust Class H are testedin their entirety and have a max-imum degree of permeability of0.005%. The disposal must bedust free.Precautions and safetyregulations when using thevacuum cleanerBefore start-upInspect power cord regularlyto detect signs of damage, e.g.cracks or ageing. If the power cord is damaged, itmust be replaced by Nilfisk-Ad-vance-Service or an electricianto avoid danger before use ofthe vacuum cleaner is contin-ued.Use only the type of powercord specified in the operatingmanual.Do not damage the power cord(e.g. by moving over it or pullingor crushing it).Disconnect the power cord bypulling the plug only (do not pullor tug the power cord).Inspect the vacuum cleaners toensure that they are in propercondition. Plugs and couplingsin power cords must at leasthave splash protection.Never use the vacuum cleaner ifthe filter element is damaged.Picking up liquidsIf foam develops or liquidemerges, stop work immediatelyand empty the dirt tank.Regularly clean the built in float(IVB 3-H) and level indicatorhose (IVB 5-H/7-H) to limit thewater level and check that theyare not damaged.See section 5 for information onhandling liquids and (hazard-ous) dust.Electrical componentsCheck the rated voltage of thevacuum cleaner before con-necting it to the mains supplysystem. Ensure that the voltageshown on the rating plate cor-responds to the voltage of thelocal mains power supply. If you are using an extensioncord, use only those specifiedby the manufacturer or higherquality ones (see section 9.4„Technical data“).It is recommended that thevacuum cleaner should be con-nected via a residual currentcircuit breaker. This stops thesupply of electricity if the leak-age current to earth exceeds 30mA for 30 ms or it has an earthtester circuit. When using an extension lead, check the minimum cross-sec-tions of the cable:Cable lengthmCross section<16 A <25 Aup to 20 m ø1.5mm² ø2.5mm²20 to 50 m ø2.5mm² ø4.0mm²Arrange the electrical parts(sockets, plugs and couplings)and lay down the extension leadso that the protection class ismaintained.Never spray water on to theupper section of the vacuumcleaner. Danger for persons, risk or short-circuiting.Observe the latest edition of theIEC regulations.
