Scrub System, Disc 77Service Manual – SC500Scrub System, DiscFunctional DescriptionThe disc brush system can be started by the operatorThe disc brush turn counter-clockwiseThe rotating brush system cleans the surface of thefloor. The main component of the brush system is thedeck where the brush or the pad holder with pad suit-able for the type of surface to be cleaned is installedThe brush deck is installed on a frame to which theelectrical actuator and the four levers for connectionto the frame integrated with the brush motor is cou-pledThe electrical actuator (M5) lifts and lowers the deckThe operating and washing pressure depends on theweight of the deck The actuator also permits the ex-tra pressure function Extra pressure is selected viathe button on the dashboardBrush rotation occurs only when the brush motor(M1) is driven by the Function Board following acti-vation of the paddleThe brush system uses the solution to wash the floor. In case of brush motor overload, a safety system stopsthe brush to prevent continuous overloadIf the overload takes place when the extra pressurefunction is on, the system automatically turns the ex-tra pressure function off If the overload persists, thebrush stopsThe overload is detected by monitoring the currentflow on the brush motor. If the motor current reachesthe value stored in the parameter “VS1” and the over-load persists, the brush motor will stop following adelay which varies on the basis of the extent of theoverloadTo start scrubbing again after a brush stop due tooverload, turn the machine off Then restart the ma-chine by inserting the ignition keyTo work properly, the brush motor (M1) needs the fol-lowing:• Brush function on• Forward paddle pressed• Battery level not in critical condition with flash-ing segmentsBrush Release SystemIn order to release the brush from its hub, the brushmotor starts up and then stops rapidly The brush’sinertia thus causes it to disengage from the hubWiring DiagramM5J1.4J1.3Deck actuator power supply +/-Deck actuator power supply -/+BRUSH DECKACTUATORMOTOR (M5)M1BR-BR+Brush motor -Brush motor +B-B+FUNCTIONELECTRONICBOARD (EB1)BRUSHMOTOR (M1)Electronic board power supply +Electronic board power supply -Figure 1
